Bahrain Unveils $20 Billion in Deals at Gateway Gulf
The Government of Bahrain launched the Gateway Gulf 2026 forum in Manama, awarding Golden Licenses for $3.89 billion in aviation, tech, and real estate projects.
The Government of Bahrain launched the Gateway Gulf 2026 forum in Manama on November 1, positioning the kingdom as open for business. Inaugurated by Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the event serves as a platform for the country to unveil investment deals valued at approximately $20 billion.
As part of the forum, the Bahrain Economic Development Board awarded Golden Licenses to four large-scale projects totaling $3.89 billion. These investments target aviation logistics, real estate, and technology to support a diversification strategy where non-oil activity already accounts for 86% of the national GDP.
Key projects include a new regional maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility by DHL at Bahrain International Airport and three aviation ventures by Capital A to expand connectivity with Europe and the Far East. In the real estate sector, Meliá and Infracorp will develop a five-star hotel and branded residences in Amwaj. Additionally, Digital City Bahrain will establish an innovation hub for ICT and education to attract global technology firms.
