Vice President Radhakrishnan Launches Gnani Artha Sovereign AI Stack

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan launched Gnani Artha, a sovereign AI stack designed to enhance technological self-reliance for Indian enterprises and public institutions.

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan launched Gnani Artha, a sovereign AI stack for Indian enterprises and public institutions, on August 28, 2026, at Uprashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Developed by Gnani Innovations Private Limited and supported by the government's India AI Mission, the initiative aims to ensure strategic autonomy and support the Viksit Bharat @2047 goal.

The stack includes Gnani Plexus, an agentic AI platform, and Gnani Evon v3.3, a 30-billion-parameter open-weights reasoning model trained in 11 Indian languages. Gnani CEO Ganesh Gopalan stated that the Evon v3.3 model reduces token consumption by 40 percent, providing cost-effective Indic language capabilities for the retail, banking, finance, and insurance sectors.

Addressing concerns regarding automation, Radhakrishnan argued that AI will increase work efficiency and generate more employment, comparing the current shift to the historical growth of the IT industry. He cited the use of AI in the Digital Sansad portal for translating parliamentary debates as a practical example of the technology's potential. Radhakrishnan credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the momentum in emerging technologies and emphasized that India must move from being a consumer to a creator of technology.
