Ukraine Drone Strikes Hit Russian Refineries and Warehouses

The Government of Ukraine executed a series of long-range drone strikes across multiple Russian regions on July 30 and 31, 2026, targeting energy infrastructure and logistics hubs. In Volgograd, drones struck an oil refinery and a Wildberries warehouse, causing a large-scale blaze that injured five people and damaged nearby residential buildings. These attacks are part of a broader campaign to disrupt Russian military logistics, specifically targeting Wildberries sites since July 18 in regions such as Penza and Udmurtia due to allegations that the retailer supplies military goods to Russian troops.

Simultaneously, over 40 drones were intercepted across eight districts in the Rostov Region. In Gukovo, a drone strike hit an apartment building, causing interfloor ceilings to collapse. The attack injured two residents, with one man trapped under rubble and one woman receiving medical care. Other impacts in the region included damage to a store and private homes in Bataysk and a forest fire in Rostov-on-Don caused by drone debris.

Governor Yuri Slyusar coordinated rescue operations in Gukovo and evacuated residents to a temporary accommodation center. He warned that the drone threat remains active in the Rostov Region. In Volgograd, Governor Andrei Bocharov deployed additional firefighting units to manage the refinery and warehouse fires.
