C3.ai Shares Rally 30 Percent Despite Revenue Decline
C3.ai shares rose nearly 30 percent between July and October 2026, outperforming Nvidia despite weak financial fundamentals and a significant net loss.
Shares of C3.ai rallied nearly 30 percent between the end of July and the end of October 2026, climbing from $9.18 to $11.85. This growth occurred during a broader tech sector sell-off and outperformed Nvidia, which saw its shares rise only 2 percent over the same three-month period.
The surge happened without a clear catalyst and in the face of weak financial fundamentals. For the period ending July 31, the company reported a net loss of $92.8 million and a 25 percent year-over-year revenue decline to $52.4 million. Despite these losses, the company maintains a market capitalization of $1.9 billion and a valuation of approximately seven times trailing revenue.
Analysts suggest the rally may be driven by investor optimism regarding a turnaround following the return of CEO Tom Siebel. Siebel resumed his leadership role in May after a year-long resignation for health reasons. The company continues to face challenges including inconsistent operational growth and increasing competition within the artificial intelligence application market.
