Moses Paul Named National Coordinator of Obidient Movement

Moses Paul succeeds Yunusa Tanko as National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement as Tanko transitions to a political advisory role for Peter Obi.

The Obidient Movement appointed Moses Paul as its new National Coordinator following a virtual meeting with presidential candidate Peter Obi and national leaders. Paul succeeds Yunusa Tanko, who served in the role for three years and has been reassigned as the Political Adviser to Peter Obi for Northern Nigeria.

In his new capacity, Tanko will lead grassroots engagement and mobilization efforts across Northern Nigeria to support the Obi-Kwankwaso presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections. Tanko stated that the new assignment requires his full attention and presence in the region to coordinate political activities.

Reflecting on his tenure, Tanko highlighted the creation of a National Advisory Council, regional collegiate councils, and coordination structures across all 36 states and 774 local government areas. He also noted the launch of the Obidient.com digital platform and an election-results monitoring system linked to the Independent National Electoral Commission's Results Viewing portal.

Paul pledged to build upon these existing foundations, characterizing the Obidient Movement as a citizen-driven platform dedicated to national unity and accountability rather than one centered on individuals.
