Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Faces Voter Fraud Allegations

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is facing allegations of voter fraud following reports from ProPublica and The Texas Tribune. The reports indicate Paxton voted in six consecutive elections, including the March Republican primary, using an address in Denton County where he no longer resided. The controversy centers on Paxton moving out of the home he shared with his wife, State Senator Angela Paxton, in 2024 while continuing to register and vote at that location.

State Representative and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico publicly accused Paxton of committing the same illegal activity the Attorney General has spent years targeting. In response to the findings, the Collin County Democratic Party filed a formal complaint with the Texas secretary of state requesting an investigation into the matter.

The office of the secretary of state confirmed that staff attorneys are currently reviewing the complaint. Paxton has repeatedly declined to answer questions regarding his residency and voter registration during news conferences and media inquiries. His office has not clarified whether a special prosecutor will be appointed to handle the case.
