Broadcom and Ciena Prepare Q3 Reports Amid AI Demand
Broadcom and Ciena are set to release third-quarter financial results this week, with both companies projecting significant growth driven by AI infrastructure demand.
Broadcom Inc and Ciena are scheduled to report their fiscal 2026 third-quarter financial results on September 2 and September 3, respectively. Both companies are benefiting from a surge in demand for AI infrastructure and optical components, mirroring a recent 106% year-over-year revenue increase reported by Nvidia Inc.
Broadcom expects consolidated revenue to reach $29.4 billion, an 84% increase year-over-year. AI semiconductor revenue is guided to reach $16 billion, which could account for more than half of the company's total quarterly revenue. This growth follows a 48% revenue increase in the second quarter. Despite this, Broadcom stock has grown only 6% year-to-date, trailing the S&P 500, while investors monitor a partnership between Alphabet Inc. and Marvell Technology that could impact Broadcom's ASIC market share.
Ciena has guided for revenue of $1.62 billion, representing a 33% increase from the previous year, with an expected non-GAAP adjusted operating margin between 19% and 20%. Analysts project earnings per share will rise 157% year-over-year to $1.72. This growth is attributed to high demand for AI infrastructure and a shortage of optical components, a market Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management predicts could reach $154 billion by 2028.
