Sainsbury's Launches Full on Fibre Labels in 600 Stores

Sainsbury's introduced new fiber labeling on 500 products across 600 UK stores to help customers meet government-recommended daily dietary fiber intakes.

Sainsbury's implemented a new Full on Fibre labelling system across 600 UK stores in July 2026. The initiative covers more than 500 products, including broccoli, beans, and oats, to address the fact that only 4% of the UK population meets the government-recommended daily intake of 30g of fiber.

To make healthy eating more accessible for families on tight budgets, the retailer paired the rollout with price-led interventions, including discounts on oranges and cherries. This effort is part of a larger health strategy that includes a £3 Healthy Start top-up for produce and support for a Department for Education free breakfast club programme.

Company leadership stated that the goal is to remove the complexity and confusion surrounding nutritional advice. Anna Taylor of The Food Foundation welcomed the initiative's focus on fiber and seasonal British produce.
