Italy and Oman Sign Deal for 150 MW Green AI Data Center
Italy and Oman signed a partnership to build a 150 MW sustainable hyperscale AI data center in Oman, backed by Ahlam Group and international firms.
Italy and Oman signed a partnership agreement during Oman Sustainability Week 2026 to develop a 150 MW sustainable, hyperscale AI data center. The project integrates renewable energy and high-efficiency systems, aiming to position Oman as a regional hub for the digital economy and energy-efficient computing. The initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040, the country's long-term economic diversification strategy.
The collaboration involves the Ahlam Group and several international partners, including RINA, Vitali, Forte Secur Group, and Corpolgia. These partners will contribute to building low-carbon, energy-efficient data infrastructure. The data center is expected to enhance energy-linked digital systems and support growing demand for AI-driven services and sustainable data storage.
The agreement marks a significant step in Oman's efforts to attract foreign investment in green technology and digital infrastructure, while Italy expands its presence in sustainable energy projects in the Gulf region.
