RedBird Capital Partners Negotiates $250 Million Investment in Puck
RedBird Capital Partners is in advanced talks to become the leading investor in Puck, valuing the newsletter startup at approximately $250 million.
Puck, a newsletter startup founded in 2021, is in advanced talks for a strategic investment from RedBird Capital Partners. The deal would value the media company at approximately $250 million and establish RedBird as the firm's leading investor.
The transaction involves existing institutional investors selling their stakes to RedBird. Shares owned by the company's founders and reporters are not part of the deal. The investment aims to accelerate growth while preserving the company's editorial independence and journalist-centric business model.
Puck currently employs around 50,000 paying subscribers. Its operational model provides equity stakes and a portion of subscription revenue directly to its journalists.
