The winner may choose between an annuitized prize of $1.04 billion paid over 30 graduated payments or a lump-sum cash value of $450.5 million before taxes. After federal and state taxes, the lump-sum payout would be reduced to approximately $261.5 million. Under Illinois law, winners of prizes exceeding $250,000 may remain anonymous if they explicitly request confidentiality on the claim form. The deadline to claim the cash prize is October 11, 2026, while the annuity option remains available until August 12, 2027.
