Reform UK Investigates Members After Undercover Racism Probe

Reform UK launched internal investigations after an undercover ITV probe filmed party candidates and councillors making racist, misogynistic, and violent remarks.

An undercover investigation by ITV and Hardcash Productions has exposed members of Reform UK making racist, misogynistic, and violent comments. The footage features Alan Feeney, a councillor and deputy mayor of Solihull, describing Asian homeowners as "parasites" and asserting that no more than 1% of the British population should be non-white. Other recorded remarks include a Bromley councillor calling for the death of King Charles and another suggesting military tactics to round up immigrants.

In the immediate aftermath, three councillors resigned or stood down, and the party launched investigations into the behavior. Party leader Nigel Farage postponed a major announcement in Essex to manage the crisis. Reform UK accused the journalists of using "extreme methods of deception" to infiltrate its London headquarters, though the party admitted that some individuals who do not share its values occasionally pass through vetting.

Labour Party Chair Bridget Phillipson condemned the findings, describing the behavior as "truly sickening" and arguing that Farage cannot dismiss the revelations as a few bad apples. The scandal arrives as the party faces declining poll numbers and police investigations into its finances and potential illegal foreign donations.
