Avolon Orders Record 140 Boeing 737 MAX-10 Jets
Avolon finalized a record-setting order for 140 Boeing 737 MAX-10 aircraft, the largest such order ever placed by an aircraft lessor.
Avolon finalized a record-setting order for 140 Boeing 737 MAX-10 jets on Wednesday. The transaction marks the largest order for the 737 MAX ever placed by an aircraft lessor and follows the recent certification of the MAX-10 by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The order increases the Irish leasing company's total backlog to more than 240 unfilled aircraft. Boeing reports that the 737 MAX-10 offers the best per-seat economics of any single-aisle aircraft, with a range of 3,100 nautical miles and capacity for up to 230 passengers. Boeing further noted that the 737 family represents approximately 30% of all financed airplanes.
Brad McMullen, Boeing's Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing, stated that the diverse 737 MAX portfolio allows airline customers to modernize fleets with aircraft that reduce emissions and operating costs while supporting long-term sustainability goals.
