Microsoft Office and Teams Head Ryan Roslansky Resigns

Ryan Roslansky is leaving Microsoft after nearly 18 years, citing family commitments in the Bay Area and a refusal to relocate to Redmond.

Ryan Roslansky, the head of Microsoft Office and Teams and former CEO of LinkedIn, is leaving the company after nearly 18 years. Roslansky cited family commitments in the Bay Area and an unwillingness to relocate full-time to Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond as the primary reasons for his departure.

His exit comes after the launch of Copilot and his previous warnings that fully AI-generated documents could create a "doom loop" of generic content for workers. In response to the vacancy, Microsoft is reshuffling its leadership. The Office and Microsoft Teams teams will now report to Charles Lamanna within the Copilot, Agents, and Platform organization.

Further organizational changes include Chief Design Officer Jon Friedman, who will now report to Copilot chief Jacob Andreou. Dan Shapero remains the CEO of LinkedIn and continues to report directly to CEO Satya Nadella.
