GAIL India Net Profit Doubles to ₹4,671 Crore in Q1
GAIL (India) Ltd reported a 96.1% increase in consolidated net profit for the first quarter of FY2026-27, driven by strong transmission and hydrocarbon operations.
State-owned gas utility GAIL (India) Ltd reported a significant financial surge for the April-June quarter of FY2026-27, with consolidated profit after tax reaching ₹4,671 crore. This represents a 96.1% increase year-on-year, while standalone profit rose to ₹4,292.33 crore. Consolidated revenue from operations climbed to ₹41,350 crore.
Growth was primarily driven by resilient liquid hydrocarbon operations and an increase in natural gas transmission to 122.36 MMSCMD. These gains offset geopolitical headwinds and a crisis in West Asia, which lowered polymer and gas marketing volumes. The company invested ₹6,176 crore in capital expenditure during the quarter.
Following the results, GAIL shares rose as much as 4% to reach ₹180.80, an eight-month high. Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Gupta noted that the company managed disruptions through spot sourcing and portfolio flexibility to maintain India's energy security.
