Waitrose Permanently Extends Rapid Delivery Hours at 35 UK Stores
Waitrose is permanently extending rapid delivery hours at 35 UK supermarkets via third-party apps after a successful FIFA World Cup trial.
Waitrose has permanently extended rapid grocery delivery hours at 35 supermarkets across the United Kingdom. This decision follows a trial that began June 23 in over 50 stores across England and Scotland, which recorded a 17 percent increase in order volumes during key FIFA World Cup matches involving England and Scotland.
Under the new arrangement, most participating branches will fulfill orders via Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat until midnight, while select high-demand locations will offer 24-hour delivery. Customers can receive thousands of products, including toiletries and fresh produce, in as little as 20 minutes.
These changes apply exclusively to third-party delivery applications and do not affect physical in-store shopping hours. Additionally, alcohol deliveries remain restricted to the licensed trading times of each specific store.
