Firstsource and Blue Star Report Q1 Profit Declines

Firstsource Solutions and Blue Star both reported net profit drops for the first quarter of FY27, triggering share price declines for both companies.

Several Indian firms reported weakened financial results for the first quarter of FY27 on August 6, leading to immediate market losses for their respective stocks.

Firstsource Solutions, a business process management and technology services provider under the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, reported a 19 per cent sequential decline in net profit, which fell to Rs 166 crore from Rs 205 crore. The company's revenue from operations decreased to Rs 2,725 crore, while EBIT margins contracted significantly to 12.4 per cent from 24 per cent. Its shares fell over 10 per cent following the announcement, adding to a month-long downward trend where the stock had already declined more than 22 per cent.

Blue Star Limited reported a 15.3 per cent year-on-year decline in net profit, dropping to Rs 102.5 crore from Rs 121 crore. While the company saw a 13.3 per cent increase in revenue to Rs 3,378 crore, it faced margin pressure and lower operating profitability. EBITDA dropped 12.3 per cent to Rs 175 crore, and shares subsequently fell 5.98 per cent to Rs 1,565.40.
