LinkedIn Launches AI-Era Verification Tools and Truecaller Partnership
LinkedIn introduced peer-vouching tools and third-party integrations with Truecaller and PeerSpot to combat AI-generated fake profiles and fraudulent work histories.
LinkedIn launched a suite of verification tools on September 23, 2026, to combat fake profiles, AI-generated misinformation, and fraudulent work histories. The platform introduced a peer-verification system allowing verified members—who must use two-factor authentication and have been connected for at least one year—to vouch for the professional and educational experiences of colleagues and classmates. Users earn a verification badge upon receiving sufficient confirmations.
To protect brand integrity, verified company page administrators can now manually remove imposter accounts from search results and company pages. The platform is also piloting a requirement for members to verify employment via work email addresses before associating their profiles with a company page. LinkedIn reports that over 115 million members and 700,000 companies have used its verification tools, with verified members seeing 90% more profile views and 50% more post engagement.
LinkedIn expanded its verification ecosystem to third-party platforms, adding Truecaller and PeerSpot to a partner list that includes Adobe, TrustRadius, and UserTesting. The integration with Truecaller allows Android users to display their verified LinkedIn workplace and job title on their caller ID screen to provide context for unknown calls.
