John Malone Predicts SpaceX and Skydance Multibillion-Dollar Deal
John Malone predicts a potential $8 billion to $10 billion investment and distribution partnership between SpaceX and Skydance.
Media mogul John Malone predicted on Wednesday that SpaceX and Skydance could enter a multibillion-dollar investment and distribution partnership. Speaking at the Paley International Council Summit in New York, Malone suggested the deal could involve cross-investments ranging from $8 billion to $10 billion.
Such an agreement would potentially allow SpaceX's Starlink satellite service to enter Hollywood content distribution. Simultaneously, the investment would provide financial support to Skydance, which is managing significant debt following its $81 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery on October 6.
Malone based his prediction on the existing financial ties between Elon Musk and Oracle founder Larry Ellison, who backed Skydance and helped finance Musk's purchase of X. While Malone expressed confidence that an announcement is coming, he did not indicate that formal negotiations are currently underway. Representatives for SpaceX and Skydance have not commented on the prediction.
