Ahold Delhaize Disables Store Websites After Cybersecurity Incident

Ahold Delhaize took websites and apps for Giant, Stop & Shop, and Hannaford offline to protect infrastructure following a cybersecurity incident.

Ahold Delhaize disabled the websites and mobile applications of several supermarket chains, including Giant Food, Stop & Shop, and Hannaford, starting Monday, October 12, 2026. The Netherlands-based parent company took these preventative measures after detecting a cybersecurity incident to protect its infrastructure for customers, associates, and partners.

The outage disrupted digital coupons, gas rewards, and Hannaford To Go pickup and delivery services. While proprietary online ordering platforms remain unavailable, physical stores, pharmacies, and fuel stations continue to operate during normal business hours. Customers can still place delivery orders through third-party platforms such as Instacart, DoorDash, and Uber Eats. Giant Food announced that all unfulfilled orders placed through its own digital platforms will be refunded.

As of Wednesday, October 14, the company stated there is no evidence that customer, associate, or partner data was compromised. Ahold Delhaize is currently investigating the network issue but has provided no estimate for when full digital services will be restored. This incident follows a previous data breach in November 2024 that affected more than 2.2 million U.S. customers.
