Saudi Aramco Reports 29 Percent Profit Increase in Q2
Saudi Aramco reported a 29 percent increase in second-quarter operating profit as high energy prices offset production losses caused by conflict with Iran.
Saudi Aramco reported a 29 percent year-on-year increase in operating profit for the second quarter. The company stated that higher energy prices effectively offset the impact of reduced production volumes.
In a statement released August 4, the company noted that its strategic infrastructure mitigated the disruptions caused by the conflict with Iran. Specifically, Aramco utilized the East-West pipeline to transport oil from the Ghawar oilfields to the Red Sea. This route provided a critical alternative to the Strait of Hormuz, which remains choked off.
