Gibraltar Industries is selling its D.S. Brown infrastructure business to Saint-Gobain for $208 million in cash to reduce debt and refocus on building products.
Gibraltar Industries is selling its infrastructure business, D.S. Brown, to the French building-materials supplier Saint-Gobain for $208 million in cash. The Buffalo-based manufacturer announced the deal on Thursday as part of a strategic shift to concentrate resources on building-products and structures end markets.
Gibraltar intends to use the proceeds from the sale to reduce debt and strengthen its balance sheet. The infrastructure segment accounted for approximately $44 million of the company's first-half sales, which totaled nearly $866 million. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year.
