Samsung Launches Galaxy Z Fold8 and Watch9 in Australia
Samsung Electronics launched its new Galaxy Z foldable phones and Galaxy Watch lineup in Australia, reporting record-breaking pre-orders and double-digit year-on-year growth.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. launched the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Watch9, and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 in Australia on August 14, 2026. The company reported record-breaking foldable pre-orders characterized by double-digit year-on-year growth and increased adoption among younger consumers.
The new foldable lineup integrates Galaxy AI and Flex Titanium technology. The Z Fold8 Ultra features an 8-inch display, while the Z Flip8 is the brand's lightest flip phone at 180g. The wearable series includes the high-performance Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and the wellness-oriented Galaxy Watch9.
To support the release, Samsung partnered with Sony Pictures for a "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" promotional campaign. This marketing push targeted the Gen MZ audience through national advertising and events at experience stores in New South Wales and Victoria.
