Macau Casino Revenue Drops 10 Percent in October

Macau's casino gaming revenue fell 10 percent in October to 21.68 billion patacas, marking the fifth consecutive monthly decline despite an increase in visitors.

The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau reported that Macau's casino gaming revenue fell 10 percent year-over-year in October to 21.68 billion patacas ($2.68 billion). This represents the fifth consecutive monthly decline, leaving revenue approximately 18 percent below 2019 pre-pandemic levels.

The downturn occurred despite a 15.5 percent increase in visitors during China's Golden Week holiday, which saw approximately 1.14 million arrivals. The decline is attributed to reduced spending by high-value gamblers, driven by a cooling Chinese stock market, China's broader economic slowdown, and tighter scrutiny of overseas spending by wealthy residents.

This trend offsets previous gains seen during an AI-driven equity rally in late 2025. The prolonged slump impacts several major operators, including Sands China, Galaxy Entertainment, Wynn Macau, MGM China, and Melco International.
