SK hynix Weighs Special Dividends After 40 Trillion Won Buyback
SK hynix is considering special dividends following the completion of a 40 trillion won share-repurchase program to increase shareholder returns.
SK hynix is considering the issuance of special dividends as part of a broader effort to increase shareholder returns. The company expects to provide further details on the payout following board approval and the release of its third-quarter results on October 28.
This potential dividend follows the completion of a 40 trillion won share-repurchase program on October 21. The program, which began on August 20, resulted in the purchase of 24.07 million shares, representing approximately 3.3% of the company's issued stock on South Korea's primary exchange.
The AI memory chip supplier intends to cancel all repurchased shares, though this step remains pending. SK hynix stated that no other South Korean listed company has announced a larger planned share retirement.
