Finnair Shares Jump 11.6% After Raising 2026 Forecasts
Finnair Oyj shares reached a three-week high after the airline increased its full-year revenue and operating profit forecasts due to strong air-travel demand.
Finnair Oyj shares rose 11.6% to €4.65 on Tuesday, hitting a three-week high after the airline raised its full-year 2026 revenue and comparable operating profit forecasts. The company now expects revenue between €3.5 billion and €3.6 billion and a comparable operating result of €175 million to €220 million, attributing the growth to air-travel demand that exceeded previous expectations.
Preliminary third-quarter results support this outlook, with revenue rising 14.1% to €953 million. Comparable operating profit for the quarter reached €84 million, up from €50.7 million in the previous year.
Despite the positive momentum, the airline warned that inflation, interest rate uncertainty, and elevated fuel costs could impact future profitability. While Finnair has passed some fuel costs to ticket prices, the company noted that securing hedging for 2027 remains a concern. A full interim report covering January to September is scheduled for release on October 27.
