Voter Appeals to INEC After BVAS Failure in Osun
Sharafa Lasisi appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission after technical failures with the BVAS machine prevented him from voting in the Osun governorship election.
A 55-year-old voter, Sharafa Lasisi, was unable to cast his ballot during the Osun governorship election on Saturday due to a failure of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS). At Polling Unit 006 in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area, the BVAS machine failed to recognize Lasisi's face during the facial verification process.
Electoral officials attributed the technical failure to network problems and instructed Lasisi to return later. However, the issue persisted upon his return, leaving him unable to complete the accreditation process. Lasisi has since appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to resolve the failure and ensure he can exercise his right to vote.
