Indian Automakers Report Surge in Dhanteras Vehicle Deliveries
Major Indian automakers including Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai reported record vehicle deliveries on Dhanteras driven by high festive demand and strong retail growth.
Major Indian automakers reported a surge in vehicle deliveries on Dhanteras, driven by high consumer demand during the festive season. Maruti Suzuki India delivered 30,000 vehicles in a single day and expects total retail deliveries for the extended festive period to increase by 12-15% over last year. Between September 14 and November 6, the company recorded over 4 lakh retail sales, though it continues to manage a backlog of 2.53 lakh pending bookings.
Other industry leaders reported similar growth. Hyundai Motor India Limited expected to deliver approximately 16,000 units on Dhanteras, marking a 14% year-on-year increase. Tata Motors anticipated single-day deliveries to exceed 12,000 vehicles, noting that retail growth has climbed over 20% since Ganesh Chaturthi.
Mahindra & Mahindra reported that strong SUV demand has left physical stocks nearly zero across most of its portfolio. The company stated it is currently operating at full capacity to meet the influx of orders.
