IndiGo Negotiates Multi-Billion Dollar Regional Jet Deal With Embraer

InterGlobe Aviation Ltd., the parent company of India's largest airline IndiGo, is in early discussions to purchase dozens of E2 regional jets from Embraer SA. The potential multi-billion dollar order is intended to increase capacity and replace the airline's existing fleet of turboprop-powered ATR aircraft.

This deal would mark the largest order for Embraer in India and align with the manufacturer's objective to establish a full aircraft assembly line within the country. Embraer has already partnered with the Adani Group to build aircraft in India, supporting a government initiative to transform the nation into a global manufacturing hub.

Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto has previously specified that the company needs orders for at least 200 E175 regional jets before it will commit to opening an Indian assembly facility.
