Samsung Electronics Unveils Galaxy Z8 Foldable Smartphone Series
Samsung Electronics introduced the Galaxy Z8 series in London, featuring the passport-inspired Galaxy Z Fold8 and the portable Galaxy Z Flip8.
Samsung Electronics introduced the Galaxy Z8 foldable smartphone series at a design briefing in London, debuting the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8. The Galaxy Z Fold8 features a design inspired by the dimensions and portability of a passport, utilizing a 4:3 main display ratio that is 21 percent wider than the previous model. This device is the thinnest in the Z Fold series, measuring 4.1 millimeters when unfolded and weighing 201 grams.
The new lineup utilizes an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a 4,800mAh battery. While the Z Fold8 focuses on immersive viewing and the Z Fold8 Ultra targets productivity with a 200MP sensor, the Z Flip8 emphasizes portability. The Z Fold8 includes a 50MP main and ultrawide camera system. The series is available in several colors, including pink for the Flip8 and lavender for the Fold8.
Hubert Lee, head of the Mobile eXperience design team, stated that the design process relied on seven years of foldable smartphone data to reduce user inconvenience and make advanced technology more natural to use.
