NTA Issues ₹7.5 Crore Tender to Prevent Exam Leaks

The National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a ₹7.5 crore tender on July 25, 2026, to appoint a professional security agency to protect its headquarters on Minto Road, its regional office in Okhla, and other sensitive facilities in New Delhi. The initiative follows intense public scrutiny and controversy regarding paper leaks during the NEET-UG 2026 examinations.

The selected agency will provide round-the-clock protection for critical infrastructure, including server rooms, strong rooms, warehouses, and confidential examination materials. Security protocols will include biometric attendance, GPS-enabled patrol tracking, and the use of metal detectors to safeguard assets and personnel.

Departing from traditional lowest-bidder norms, the NTA is utilizing a Quality-and-Cost-Based Selection (QCBS) model, weighting technical capability at 70% and financial bids at 30%. Eligible bidders must demonstrate five years of high-security experience and an average annual turnover of ₹10 crore over the last three financial years. The initial two-year contract allows for two one-year extensions. Bids remain open until August 17. This security drive is part of a larger administrative overhaul that includes new tenders for housekeeping and examination-grade printing services.
