Police Reopen Firebomb Probe Into Nigel Farage Home

Counter Terrorism Policing has reopened an investigation into an April 2025 attack at the south London home of Nigel Farage. The incident involved a lit incendiary device pushed through a letterbox, which police initially treated as an attempted burglary before closing the case without making arrests.

Officers reopened the probe after discovering a previously unexamined line of inquiry while investigating the murder of former MP Ann Widdecombe. Farage claimed the security services only began taking the safety of Reform UK figures seriously following Widdecombe's death, asserting that his party had been treated differently than others until that point.

Both Counter Terrorism Policing and the Metropolitan Police Service have referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. The watchdog is currently investigating the conduct of a London-based staff member. While Farage accused counter-terrorism officers of making mistakes, he stated he has confidence in the police now that they have admitted their errors.
