David Eby Urges Green Voters to Block Conservative Victory
BC NDP Leader David Eby is calling on Green Party voters to support his party in the October 24 snap election to prevent a Conservative win.
British Columbia NDP Leader David Eby is urging Green Party voters to support the New Democrats in the snap election scheduled for October 24 to prevent a Conservative victory. Speaking in Campbell River, Eby argued that while the NDP and Greens share a vision for public healthcare and environmental protection, votes for the Green Party could inadvertently elect a Conservative government, which he claims would cause generational damage.
Green Party Leader Emily Lowan rejected the appeal, accusing Eby of attempting to scare voters and criticizing his record on childcare, long-term care, and affordable housing. Lowan cited the recent election of Green candidate Pete Fry as mayor of Vancouver as evidence of readiness for Green leadership.
The Conservative Party of British Columbia characterized Eby's appeal as a sign of desperation resulting from his own record and current opinion polls showing the NDP trailing.
