Bandi Sanjay Kumar Threatens NRC Over Electoral Roll Dispute

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar declared that illegal migrants will not be permitted to exercise voting rights during a public meeting in Nirmal. He warned that the government would introduce the National Register of Citizens (NRC) to identify and deport illegal immigrants if the Indian National Congress continues to oppose the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

These statements occurred during a Maha Padayatra organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party as part of its Save Democracy – Remove Anarchy campaign. BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao accused the Congress party of spearheading a misinformation campaign against the SIR and the Narendra Modi government to destabilize the administration.

BJP leaders claimed the opposition is ignoring critical issues facing unemployed youth and farmers in Telangana. The conflict centers on the integrity of electoral rolls ahead of upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
