Airtel Money Launches £5.3 Billion London IPO
Airtel Money launched an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange, valuing the mobile payments firm at £5.3 billion.
Airtel Money, officially Airtel Mobile Commerce NV, launched its initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange on October 9, 2026. The offering prices shares at £1.96, giving the company a valuation of £5.3 billion. This deal is potentially the largest IPO in London in five years and may make the company eligible for FTSE UK indexes.
The offering aims to raise £529 million for existing shareholders, including Mastercard Inc. and the Qatar Investment Authority, who are selling 270 million shares. Bharti Airtel International holds an overallotment option to sell an additional 27 million shares. Because this is a secondary offering, it provides liquidity to minority investors but raises no new capital for Airtel Money or its parent company, Airtel Africa.
Airtel Money operates a mobile payments network across Africa, supported by 2.3 million agents and 53 million monthly active users.
