Apple Launches Audio Intelligence in watchOS 27.3 Beta

Apple released developer betas for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS 27.3, introducing AI-powered conversation transcription and summarization tools for the Apple Watch.

Apple Inc. released the first developer betas of iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, and watchOS 27.3 on November 3, 2026. The updates introduce Audio Intelligence for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, featuring Live Rewind and Siri Recap. Live Rewind allows users to view a text transcript of the previous 15 seconds of a conversation by double-pressing the Digital Crown, while Siri Recap generates high-level summaries of daily conversations, including key dates and deadlines.

To address privacy concerns, Apple processes audio through the S11 chip's Secure Exclave, ensuring raw audio is not saved as a file or accessible to apps, the operating system, or Apple. Live Rewind triggers an audible chime to alert others when active, and Siri Recap summaries exclude sensitive government or financial identifiers. These features enter public beta before a full release expected in late November or early December.

Beyond audio tools, the iOS 27.3 beta includes a redesigned Health app with a new Insights tab, Health Age, and lab work scheduling via Quest Diagnostics. Safari adds vertical tabs and adaptive dark mode, while Siri AI expands to support Norwegian, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Traditional Chinese. Apple also announced that basic Apple Intelligence features, such as Genmoji and Writing Tools, will launch in China in December, though Siri AI will remain unavailable there.
