Early Voting Begins for Massachusetts and Oklahoma Primaries
Voters in Massachusetts and Oklahoma have begun early voting for state primaries and runoff elections featuring high-profile gubernatorial and Senate contests.
Early voting has commenced in both Massachusetts and Oklahoma for separate primary election cycles. In Oklahoma, early voting began August 20 for primary runoff elections. These contests include a Republican gubernatorial runoff between Attorney General Gentner Drummond and former state Senator Mike Mazzei, as well as races for state superintendent and the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination.
Oklahoma voters are also deciding on two constitutional questions. One concerns the reimbursement formula for local school property tax exemptions, while the other would require proof of identity for all voting methods.
In Massachusetts, early in-person voting begins August 22 for the September 1 state primary. The Government of Massachusetts is overseeing a high-profile Democratic Senate race between incumbent Ed Markey and U.S. Representative Seth Moulton. The Republican gubernatorial contest features Mike Minogue and Brian Shortsleeve, while Democratic Governor Maura Healey is running unopposed in her primary.
