Avolon Orders 250 Boeing and Airbus Aircraft
Avolon announced firm orders for 250 Boeing and Airbus jets to support airline customers expanding their fleets with fuel-efficient technology.
Irish aircraft lessor Avolon announced firm orders for 250 aircraft from Boeing and Airbus on October 9, 2026. The order consists of 140 Boeing 737 MAX jets and 110 Airbus aircraft, including 75 from the A320neo family and 35 A330neos. The agreement also includes options for an additional 100 aircraft.
If approved, the deal will increase Avolon's total firm aircraft commitments to 749 jets. The transaction is pending approval from the shareholders of Bohai Leasing Co., Ltd., which holds a 70% stake in Avolon, and is expected to be finalized by the end of October 2026.
CEO Andy Cronin stated the orders enhance the company's ability to support airline customers as they renew and expand their fleets using the most fuel-efficient technology available. In a concurrent third-quarter update, Avolon reported the establishment of a $1.5 billion commercial paper program and the closing of an $855 million unsecured term loan.
