Archer Aviation Flies Midnight Air Taxi Across Northern California
Archer Aviation completed a multi-city flight tour in Northern California to demonstrate the urban integration and speed of its Midnight electric air taxi.
Archer Aviation completed a series of piloted flights across Northern California as part of its No Roads flight tour. Using the all-electric Midnight air taxi, the company flew more than 200 miles over three days, visiting seven cities including Salinas, Hollister, San Martin, San Jose, Mountain View, Hayward, and Oakland.
The tour concluded with flights over the San Francisco Bay, featuring a 10-minute trip from Oakland International Airport to the Marina District in San Francisco. During these flights, the aircraft reached top speeds of 131 mph to demonstrate its potential to reduce commute times and integrate into complex urban airspace.
Archer coordinated the operations with the Federal Aviation Administration and local partners. The company now plans to conduct similar flight demonstrations in Los Angeles as part of the White House eVTOL Integration Pilot Program.
