Senate Tests Clarity Act Vote as House Ethics Probe Hits Two Members

Simultaneously, the United States House Committee on Ethics has recommended the censure of Congressman Chuck Edwards of North Carolina. The recommendation follows an investigation into Edwards' treatment of female staffers, prompting him to withdraw from his re-election bid.

The ethics committee has also launched an investigation into Congressman Max Miller of Ohio following allegations of domestic and child abuse. Miller denies the allegations. Both the North Carolina and Ohio seats are now viewed as highly competitive for the upcoming election cycle.
