Google Launches Fitbit Edge with Replaceable Battery

Google announced the Fitbit Edge, a premium fitness band priced at $180 that replaces the Fitbit Charge 6. The device introduces a replaceable battery to the Fitbit line, providing one week of power and the ability to recharge a full day of use in five minutes.

The tracker features a 1.34-inch oval display and includes an altimeter, automatic workout detection, and health monitoring tools capable of tracking changes in insulin resistance. The device will be available in four colors: obsidian, canyon, fog, and olive green.

Shipments for the Fitbit Edge begin October 27. Google is also releasing a special-edition version for $220 in select countries, named after professional basketball player and Google adviser Stephen Curry.
