MEXC Report Finds Crypto Traders Wary of AI Automation
MEXC reports that 84.8% of cryptocurrency traders use AI for research, though most remain reluctant to grant AI full control over their funds.
A report published by MEXC on October 15 reveals that 84.8% of 3,708 surveyed cryptocurrency traders have utilized artificial intelligence for research or trading within the last six months. Users primarily employ AI for news summarization and market analysis, with 58.3% stating the technology improved their research capabilities. However, confidence in AI for trade execution is lower, with only 46% reporting improvements in that area.
Traders remain cautious regarding full automation. Only 6.5% of respondents would authorize AI to trade more than half of their account balance, while 54% would limit AI to 20% of their funds. The report notes that willingness to use automated execution increases from 55% to 71.8% when strict risk limits on leverage, position size, and losses are in place. Nearly all respondents, 95.5%, support the implementation of mandatory industry safety measures.
Blockchain security firm Hacken provided technical analysis for the findings, warning that restricting withdrawals is an insufficient measure to prevent trading losses caused by AI agents. Vugar Usi Zade noted that as AI integrates further into trading, users seek clearer boundaries rather than less control.
