Japanese Influencer Mina Chan Dies by Suicide During Livestream

Japanese social media influencer Mina Chan died by suicide during a TikTok livestream in August. Chan, who had over 300,000 followers on TikTok and 150,000 on Instagram, primarily created content focused on the K-pop group ENHYPEN.

Reports indicate that Chan was hounded on social media after she handed a flower to one of the group's performers. This action led to widespread accusations from other users that she was pretending to have a close personal relationship with the group.

Chan issued an apology for the incident prior to her death. Her family later confirmed her passing via a post on Instagram.
