Qatar Condemns Israeli Settler Attacks in West Bank

The Government of Qatar condemned the escalation of Israeli settler attacks in the occupied West Bank on August 15, 2026. Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the systematic violence against civilians as a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

Qatar asserted that these crimes result from a government policy that empowers settlers to operate under the protection of the Israeli army and security apparatuses. The ministry called on the international community to take urgent action to protect Palestinians and hold perpetrators accountable, while reaffirming its support for an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

This condemnation follows reports from the Palestinian Foreign Ministry regarding a five-day siege by Israeli forces and settlers on Qusra, south of Nablus. The siege reportedly resulted in damage to water and electricity networks, with Palestinian officials alleging that settlers are being used as tools for forced displacement and annexation.
