White House Considers Payments for Stay-at-Home Parents

The White House is considering a proposal to provide Child Care and Development Block Grant payments to married stay-at-home parents.

The White House is considering a proposal to expand the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) to include married, stay-at-home parents. The fund has traditionally been reserved for impoverished working parents to help them maintain employment while securing childcare.

JD Vance, the Vice President of the United States, supports the shift toward a family policy that encourages parents to remain at home. He argued that "Normal Americans care more about their families than their jobs, and want a family policy that doesn’t shunt their kids into crap daycare."
