Apple Inc. released the fourth developer beta of iOS 27 and the iOS 26.6 Release Candidate on July 21, 2026. The iOS 27 beta is compatible with iPhone 11 and newer models, including second-generation iPhone SE devices.
Key updates in iOS 27 Beta 4 include an Automatic Downloads feature in the Apple TV app, which automatically downloads the next two episodes of shows in the Continue Watching section and deletes them after viewing. The update also introduces expanded Siri personalization with six regional accents and adjustable pace and expressivity for American voices. Other additions include a ProRes log format option in Camera settings, a Zoom Photos to Fill option in Photos, and a redesigned AirPods section in the Control Center.
Further enhancements to iOS 27 involve Apple Home, which now features summarized camera videos and grouped notifications. Meanwhile, the iOS 26.6 Release Candidate focuses on security and stability, adding malicious message detection in the Messages app and notifications regarding blocked contact limits. While the iOS 26.6 RC is expected to reach the general public in the coming weeks, the full public release of iOS 27 is anticipated for mid-to-late September 2026.
