National Highways to Close A34 Southbound for Six Weeks

National Highways will close a section of the A34 southbound in Oxfordshire for six weeks to conduct resurfacing works. The closure affects the stretch from the Peartree roundabout to the Marcham Interchange, with construction occurring nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday, August 17.

The project is organized into two phases. Traffic will be diverted via Berinsfield and the A415 over Abingdon Bridge, with additional alternative routes utilizing the A44, A40, A4142, A423, and A4074. Emergency vehicles and construction traffic are exempt from the closure.
