Jon Dow Distribution Collapses After 25 Years of Operation
Jon Dow Distribution has entered administration following a sustained trading downturn, resulting in the redundancy of all five employees.
Jon Dow Distribution, a Scottish food distribution company based in Forfar, has collapsed into administration after nearly 25 years of operation. The business, incorporated in 2002 as J.D.R.B Ltd and owned by Colin and Joan Muir, specialized in supplying frozen foods and catering essentials to fish and chip shops across Scotland.
A sustained downturn in trading led to the company's failure, which resulted in the redundancy of all five employees. The company operated seven delivery routes serving cities including Inverness, Aberdeen, and Dundee.
Joint liquidators Geoff Jacobs and Alistair McAlinden of Interpath were appointed on October 26 to oversee the winding-up process. They are currently managing the sale of remaining assets, which include four delivery vehicles. Affected workers are seeking assistance through the UK Government's insolvency support scheme, while creditors await details on the claims process.
