Multiple US States Set Deadlines for Primary Election Voting
Election officials in Arizona, Kansas, Alaska, and Wisconsin have established critical deadlines for voter registration and ballot submission for upcoming primary elections.
Election authorities across several states are implementing deadlines for primary election participation throughout July 2026. In Arizona, officials recommended July 14 as the final date to mail in ballots for the July 21 primary. To facilitate voting, Maricopa County introduced an 'ID Verified Drop Off' option, allowing voters to bypass signature verification by presenting identification to workers.
In Kansas, the deadline for residents to register or update voter information for the August 4 primary was midnight on July 14. Registration is available through the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office. Advance mail-in ballots began distributing on July 15, with early in-person voting at satellite locations starting July 28.
Alaska residents must register by July 19 for a primary election on August 18, which determines candidates for governor and various legislative seats. Residents applying for the Alaska Permanent Fund dividend are automatically registered unless they opt out. Early and absentee voting in the state begins August 16.
Additionally, officials in Kenosha, Wisconsin, designated July 14 as the final day for residents to establish residency for the August 11 partisan primary, although registration via mail or online remains open until July 22.
