5C Group Considers IPO to Fund AI Data Center Expansion

5C Group is considering an initial public offering to raise billions for expanding its artificial intelligence data center pipeline across the United States.

CEO Simon Ahdoot announced that 5C Group is considering an initial public offering to support the expansion of its artificial intelligence data center project pipeline. Speaking at the Bloomberg Canadian Finance Conference in New York, Ahdoot stated the Montreal-based firm intends to raise an additional $5 billion to $6 billion through a combination of debt and equity.

Since 2025, 5C Group has secured over $1.4 billion in funding, with equity led by Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. and debt led by Deutsche Bank AG. The company currently operates 110 megawatts of capacity and is working toward a roadmap of 1,500 megawatts. This growth includes the development of large-scale campuses in Springfield, Ohio, Memphis, Tennessee, and Phoenix, Arizona.

Despite the aggressive expansion, Ahdoot noted that the firm faces staffing challenges and high turnover within the technology sector. Hypertec Group Inc., the parent company and largest shareholder of 5C Group, continues to oversee the developer's strategic growth in the AI infrastructure market.
